WELCOME TO SCOUTS BSA TROOP 284 Manhattan, KS
Troop 284 is chartered by the Pearce-Keller American Legion Post 17. Troop meetings are every Monday @ 7:00PM in Manhattan (one meeting per month reserved for Patrol Leadership Council).
We are very excited and proud of our Troop. Our mission statement is to prepare youth to make good ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Motto, Scout Slogan, and The Outdoor Code.
We are SCOUT LED and adult guided!
We just proudly named our 30th Eagle Scout!
Our motto is RESPECT AND HONOR!!
Scouting has a reputation for helping youth develop self-reliance, strong character, respect for others, good citizenship skills, and physical and mental fitness. For over a century, our programs have instilled in youth the values and knowledge that they need to become leaders in their communities. We follow the founder of Boy Scouts, Lord Baden Powell's ideals and promote the scouts experience to be "fun with a purpose".
With Troop 284, scouts build confidence through experience in a safe environment. We take our responsibility to these young scouts very seriously, and invite you to look more closely at our Troop.
